Myth: Whitening Services Can Remove Any Stain

While whitening services can be an excellent way of correcting these unsightly blemishes, it is important to note that this is not always a valid treatment option. If the stains are extremely deep in the tooth, chemical based whitening may not be able to completely lift out the stain. 

When this is the case, you may need to have the tooth bonded. During a bonding session, a thin film of porcelain is placed over the tooth to give it the appearance of being perfectly white. These films are remarkably durable, but you will still need to have them replaced at least once every few years.
